Remaking the Space

“Entrance Hall”was the picure that won the Gaudí medal in Reus 2008. It is the image of an entrance hall in a typical Catalan country house. The photographer plays the leading role in the image, by positioning himself in several areas of the room: at the front, left, upside down, ... a typical surrealist effect that surpise us and that takes us away from the objective reality of traditional photography.

The main idea is to break the "up and down" concept in a picture. One of the first inspirations for this project was the work of M. Cornelis Escher, which made me start looking for the concept of more than one point of view in one image, to be applied to photography.
